Inside

Inside is reconstruction of a past or future dream created from the audience’s memories and imagination – A collaboratively developed imaginary travel with possible and impossible people, objects and places.

Duration 20min.

Inside is reconstruction of a past or future dream created from the audience’s memories and imagination – A collaboratively developed imaginary travel.  With role-playing like multiple-choice narration, each audience co-creates their own dreamlike story.  They follow different characters through various imagined spaces – what starts out realistic, turns successively surreal. It’s a travel through time, through possible and impossible memories and places, a patchwork world of familiar and strange people, objects, and places.

Description of your work: What happens in it?

Inside is a guided tour through an imaginary haunted house built out of the audience’s memories and imagination – A collaboratively developed ghost story. With role-playing like multiple-choice narration, each audience co-creates their own dreamlike story. They follow different characters reacting to a disturbing, but ambiguous, incident – what starts out realistic, turns successively surreal and spooky. It’s a travel through time, through possible and impossible memories and places, an inner, dreamlike patchwork world of familiar and strange people, objects, and places.”

How did you come to create this piece?

This piece connects to a wider research on topics and aesthetics I am interested in lately – horror, magic, power relations and a format of a guided tour. It builds upon previous shows, where I explored the power of imagination, possibilities of language and after show debates.

Who is the one you wish to experience your work?

Everyone who is interested in storytelling and playing with imagination and potentiality of events. Everyone who likes to explore unknown spaces and stories and (improvise together) and finds inspiring to blur lines and shifting between different realities (real, imagined, material, magical/surreal) or is curious about what that is.

What does one-to-one art bring to you as an artist?

I’ve always liked to explore various ways of audience interaction, giving visitors space to imagine and discuss, exploring how our minds fill in gaps based on individual experiences. I see theatre as a social situation, where conversations after (or during) the shows are as important as the act of watching. In one on one, which I see as a micro-performance format I see the possibility to explore these on a even more personalised and focused level. Co-creating a one on one together with an audience member always brings something unexpected, unpredictable and new, a surprise, a new idea – which I find fun and refreshing!

Greetings from you, the artist, to the visitors of the festival

Hello! I am very much looking forward to meet and exchange ideas, views, images, perceptions and fantasies with you. I am excited to co-create new worlds and learn and discover something new with and from you!

Lampič participated in the One-to-One Art residency in summer 2025.
The work will also be shown at the One-to-One Festival in Oeiras, Portugal in November.
